Article: Anne Twist supports Parkinson’s UK through JustGiving
May 6, 2017: Mrs. Anne Twist, mum to Harry and Gemma Styles, posted a tweet this week about her Parkinson’s UK Just Giving site raising funds to bring an end to Parkinson’s disease. Long time supporter of Parkinson’s UK, Anne announced that she will be participating with a team of friends in a white water rafting excursion to raise awareness and funds for Parkinson’s UK. The organization responded with a tweet (below) thanking Mrs Twist for supporting them.
Anne stated on her page: “…I am facing my fears & White Water Rafting! for Parkinson’s UK because I want a cure & I want it NOW!!”
Being a team that offers support for those living a life with this disease is what Parkinson’s UK is all about. That’s why supporting the charity is so crucial. Their mission is just that; being there so no one must face it alone.
On the Parkinson’s UK website you will find their mission statement and purpose as a charity. Part of that statement is printed below:
“…every hour someone in the UK is told they have Parkinson’s. Because we’re here, no one has to face Parkinson’s alone. We offer friendship, support, expert information and advice. We also fund ground breaking research into Parkinson’s and we’re leading the way to find a cure.”
The research taking place with Parkinson’s UK has made hopeful strides towards a cure, but research and all the support required is costly. Luckily, Parkinson’s Uk has supporters like Anne highlighting the work they do through their social media and fundraising.
You can learn more about Anne Twist and her family’s on-going support from our articles on April 20, 2017 and July 11, 2016. Please consider supporting Anne and her team as they get ready for white water rafting, September 10, 2017 and be part of the solution hoped for, in ending Parkinson’s for good.
